介詞短語的作用

1.用作狀語
Class begins at half past seven. (時間) 7時半開始上課。
His parents work on a farm. (地點) 他父母在農場工作。
She came here by train. (方式) 她乘火車來這裡。

2. 用作定語
作定語用的介詞短語應放在所修飾的名詞之後。如：
The book on the desk is very interesting. 書桌上的那本書很有趣。
The young man from Guilin is my uncle. 從桂林來的那位年輕人是我叔叔。
We visited the museum in the centre of the city. 我們參觀了市中心的博物館。
3. 用作表語
在系動詞後的介詞短語用作表語。如：
